I managed to snap a few shots after work today in my super sweater steal. I am a sucker for a good sale and constantly have my eyes open for a quick snag. This sweater from Banana Republic was one of those steals. Already on sale and an additional 40%, count me all the way in.
I am missing my stylebff Jackie at home, while she is traveling in Thailand, which is beyond fabulous. It's hard to blog without my partner in crime, but thankfully my coworker was willing (or possibly reluctant enough) to take my picture.
The weather today finally felt like fall- rain showers in the morning and sunsets much earlier in the evening. (Side note: pictures are much more difficult to take pass six o'clock) . I am excited for the change in temperature though! This sweater is about to become my go-to. The color block is perfect in neutrals. It is on trend but not too loud and obnoxious.
One of the lows of working retail is constantly being on my feet for eight hours a day. Investing in comfortable shoes is definitely a must.
I typically would avoid shoe brands that I would view as "podiatrist approved," but these flats by Gentle Souls are sooo comfortable. They are also pretty adorable and allow me to channel my inner ballerina.
This outfit post is all about fall essentials. I love these pants that I got from Aritzia. I don't know if you would call them pants or leggings, or the dreaded jegging. Either way, they are a great fall staple! I'm always into a pant that shows a little ankle. Recently, I've been loving a warm color combo. This fall combination of navy, powder pink, and burgundy has been a favorite of mine for the season. It really evokes a subtle sophistication.
Back to Basics
A cashmere sweater, a pair of converse, and diet coke (duh) are great staples for any wardrobe. I love how cashmere feels and fall is all about mixing different textures. My viscose wool sweater looks great alongside the soft pink cashmere.
As Jackie has mentioned, we are loving a monochromatic look. Although I broke up this look with some navy, the pink and burgundy are definitely from the same color family and look great layered together.
Alison and I have been lusting over our local post office, which is in talks of being torn down to create extra parking. It's very sad because it is simply stunning inside with Italian marble and old world charm. We were determined to get a few shots inside, even if that meant getting weird stares from suburban residents. It was actually pretty comical and I think all the senior citizens enjoyed seeing a bit of action on a random weekday.
