This look is all about being simple and still stylish. I find myself saying this a lot, but it's a very true fashion statement. A pair of great jeans, a sweater with a little bit of detail, and an amazing pair of shoes can really take a simple outfit to a whole new level. Not only did I feel comfortable wearing this look, especially after eating my date night meal; I felt confident and totally on point with my fashion aesthetics. I am a normal kind of gal: I buy on sale and I reuse clothes. These Uniqlo boyfriend jeans have been such a great staple for my wardrobe. I've worn them a lot and have blogged them before (see here). I'm so into a clean line that I was hesitant about a baggy boyish cut, but this pair just worked for me with its tapered leg. Like I said, I reuse clothes and try to shop a bit savvy. These Coclico boots are reflective of both those statements. I purchased them on Gilt at a crazy reduced price and have lived in them. They are such a great day-to-day boot. Wear them with a casual dress or an easy pant, they make every outfit feel complete.
Keeping it real:
I have to be honest here. Jackie and I have taken a few breaks from blogging. We recently just started back up. One of the reasons was just being plain old busy. Work was definitely taking both of us away from this fun hobby of ours. Another reason was that we were I guess you could say slightly disillusioned and disappointed by the blogging community. We are true fashion lovers, and as mentioned above are completely normal human beings. Bills need to be paid and savings need to grow. It's shocking to see some fashion bloggers just wear a piece once, and then never see it on their blog again. What's up with that?! I just have to question this aspect of blogging, since a huge part of fashion is styling. Why buy something if you are only going to use it for a blog post? Style is not something that is disposable. Trends come and go, but a true sense of taste does not. Again, I have to question, why do people blog? After a while, it gets old seeing the same types of outfits being produced over and over again. We get it: you LOVE arm candy and neon floral prints?! I don't want to come across as a "hater" because I am definitely- like I said- a fashion lover. I just wish more bloggers would dress and post for themselves, truly having a real sense of personal style. There's something so generic out there with fashion bloggers- it's a worldwide crisis! So fellow bloggers, do yourselves and your wallets a favor: wear your clothes, love them, and challenge your styling skills.
