holiday looks

The month of December is in full-swing and our feeds are filled with all things velvet and sequined.

If you’re feeling the same way, or just want to wear your “fashion sweats” to ring in the holiday cheer, look no further than these StyleBFFs-approved combos.

Our first look is all about taking your most comfortable pieces and turning them onto their head. Then upping the ante with pops of fur and sparkle.

Jackie: Feeling inspired by Katie in Khaite, I don a vintage mink and tube top combo. Elastic waist pants are a non-negotiable here, but a snake print boot keeps everything festive. Also yes, my clip says “youth” in rhinestones as the ultimate nod to 2020.

ALK: Sames on that non-negotiable: give me all the pull-on pants! No matter what year it is, I’ll forever love a good color + print combo like this lavender fuzzy jacket paired with my printed orange pants. My Grandma’s rhinestone neck tie and metallic accessories are the perfect additions of holiday glitz to top off the look!

Our second look takes on a different approach, but remains low-key and glam.

Of course in true StyleBFFs form, nothing is ever straightforward.

Adrienne: Why not close out 2019 with one of the year’s biggest fashion trends- a long dress with sneakers? By far one of my faves and so easy to elevate with the right outerwear. For this look, I wore a regal af brocade robe that I scored at A Current Affair. I instantly fell in love with its scalloped edges at the lapel and cuffs. It’s a fancy statement when secured with a jeweled belt, so in true StyleBFFs form the comfy sneakers were an absolute must.

Jackie: This look is deceivingly simple, and rooted in a monochromatic affect that has been really inspiring me. Consider it my loose (albeit very loose) nod to minimalism. A vintage silk skirt anchors an oversized poplin shirt. The rest is just accessories! Fuzzy cuffs, rhinestone shoes, and of course a headscarf. A small pink minaudière box clutch rounds it out, and adds a much needed extra pop of print and color.

Here’s our STYLEBFFS take:

1. Don’t be afraid to play with length and dimension—a dress with your favorite sneakers, or a tube top with some pull-on pants. It can instantly elevate a look.

2. Shine bright like a Diamond—add sparkle with hits of accessories!

3. Always add a statement piece. This is the time of the year for that fab piece of outerwear you’ve been saving in your closet.

And if all else fails, add bubbles.
