travel diary: york
I'm currently in the city of lights, magical Paris-- but my heart is still thinking about my quick trip to York a few weeks back. York, ah what amazing time! I would highly recommend this quaint city to any one traveling in the UK. We stayed at the charming Middletons hotel and enjoyed a traditional English breakfast each morning before our exploring. York is a relatively small city, so two full days was enough time to explore and see everything the city has to offer, although we could have stayed for a few more! I loved the "village" feel of the downtown, with so many food and shopping destinations. A girl needs to have her options, am I right? From big chains like Zara to small boutique shops, York had it all when it came to shopping.
I stumbled upon a Jigsaw store, so of course I had to pop in and see their current collection. About thirty minutes later, I walked out with two amazing coats, both on major discount! This look was taken on the second day, in one of those new pieces (yup, I just couldn't wait). Jigsaw's collaboration with the William Morris gallery was drop dead gorgeous- extremely unique with its Brother Rabbit print. My store never received this bomber jacket, so when I saw it I knew it had to come home with me.
York Recommendations:
Have a healthy and hearty meal at Filmore and Union (yes this girl cannot get away from SF).
Take a leisurely stroll along the city walls that date back to Roman times.
Browse through the multitudes of antiques at the Antiques Centre.
