kimono no 'mo
This is only the third time I've worn this kimono I bought last summer. I love how beautiful and eye-catching it is, so I cannot bring myself to overwear it.
Certain types of clothes, or aesthetics, get styled the same way over and over. I have never been a fan of keeping things within their own genre; I always mix and match. Rather than interpret the kimono into an entirely bohemian look, I wanted to add a more playful and edgy feel to the piece. I decided to wear my black cut-out Asos playsuit. It has a subtly sexy attitude due to the peek-a-boo floral detailing, and I love that the suit is black too.
For me, my outfits always come down to the little details. I chose to add the black ruffled sock to stay with the whole playful yet edgy vibe. Again, I like the fact that they are black because color truly dictates the attitude of any outfit. Everything would have been entirely different if my playsuit and ruffled socks were ivory. I finally decided to finish things off with my cognac colored cut-out wedges by Elizabeth and James. Here I use them as a way to offset all the black, and bring the whole look together.
